Since late March, BASF's production bases in Shanghai have been in closed-loop operations; during the lockdown period, although the production load has decreased, production activities have not been interrupted. BASF has always taken all necessary precautions in its production and office premises in accordance with government requirements to protect the health and safety of employees and contractors, while ensuring customer supply and business continuity to the greatest possible extent.
In response to the government's notification and preparation for closed-loop management, BASF Shanghai Pudong Science and Technology Innovation Park has purchased emergency supplies for epidemic prevention since early March, for emergency use by volunteers from various departments. Since the closed-loop management was started in late March, the base management immediately started the relevant deployment, and organized personnel from the installation, maintenance, logistics, quality assurance and control, administration, and environment, health and safety departments to be stationed in the base to ensure the safe operation of the base.
In addition to BASF Shanghai Pudong Science and Technology Innovation Park, BASF's other major bases in Shanghai are also in closed-loop operations, making every effort to ensure safe production.
During this time, the safety and health of our employees has always been a top priority. The base clinic actively tracks the dynamic situation of the isolation and sealing of colleagues, and provides consultation and advice; for the employees who volunteer in the base, it has implemented basic supplies such as rest places, warm sleeping bags, living materials, and organized leisure activities to take care of everyone's physical and mental health. .
The management of BASF led the establishment of a special action team for employee support to arrange the delivery of living supplies for colleagues living in Shanghai who are in short supply. Nearly 2,000 supplies have been successfully delivered.
