In order to ensure that the project will be put into operation in the middle of the third quarter and smoothly produce qualified ethylene glycol intermediate products, since May 1, all participating units of Jiutai have overcome the difficulties of epidemic prevention and control and resumption of work, made full use of holidays, and continuously worked overtime to rush the construction period. , and actively prepare for the introduction of production. After full preparations in the early stage, on May 10th, the power plant area was successfully ignited and supplied with gas, and the ethylene glycol project with an annual output of 1 million tons officially entered the trial production preparation stage.

In the early stage of ignition, the reserve diesel oil is used as the fuel to preheat the oven, and then the fuel coal is transported from the raw material silo to the boiler, and the high-pressure power steam is stably output, and then sent to the methanol plant area and the air boundary area to drive the power plant.

The work of each unit of the water system was carried out steadily, the desalinated water produced qualified water and supplied to the power plant area, and the air separation circulating water and the water supply pressurization station were running stably.

In the air demarcation area, workers are carrying out various safety inspections before equipment operation in an orderly manner to ensure safe and stable operation. At present, the equipment is ready for work and ready for start-up.

On the premise of ensuring safety and quality, in order to promote the project to be put into production as soon as possible, all production departments race against time and continue to fight on the front line of project construction. With the close cooperation of all staff, all production preparations have been fully rolled out.

Project Overview

The coal-to-ethylene glycol project with an annual output of 1 million tons of Inner Mongolia Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in Tuoketuo Industrial Park, Hohhot, with a total investment of 13.3 billion yuan. The formaldehyde hydrocarboxylation process technology of Wanfeng Davy Company produces ethylene glycol. Signed a US$120 million contract with Johnson Matthey Davy Technology Co., Ltd. for the technology transfer and catalyst for the synthesis of ethylene glycol, formaldehyde and methanol.

The project cooperated with American Air Products (AP Company) to build a supporting syngas island. AP invested 4.8 billion yuan to undertake the construction of boundary areas such as air separation and gasification. Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd. provides raw materials and public works to AP, and AP Company invests and operates the synthesis gas island related devices, and meets the synthesis gas required by Jiutai New Materials Co., Ltd. to produce ethylene glycol. The syngas island operates 8,000 hours per year, supplying 550,000Nm3/h of effective syngas (design capacity).
