Evonik has established a new "Polyurethane House" in Istanbul, strengthening its technical service capabilities in Turkey and throughout the Middle East and Africa region.

The new, 500-square-meter facility features state-of-the-art equipment and provides regional customers with digital analysis methods for polyurethane (PU) foam applications, best-in-class technical services and customized training opportunities. Evonik hopes that the new center will help it maximize the high-growth potential of the polyurethane market in the region by scaling up its activities more rapidly in the new regional center.

Ralph Marquardt, head of Evonik's Polyurethane Additives business, said: "Our new 'House of Polyurethanes' has played a key role in helping us initiate the development of several new product solutions locally. This latest investment highlights the growing importance of the region and Evonik's continued emphasis on strengthening its technical services and product development capabilities following the recent opening of its innovation center in Essen.

In addition to the innovation center in Essen, Evonik's polyurethane specialists at its base in Istanbul will focus on various physical tests for polyurethane foam applications, as well as customized customer seminars and training courses - including Evonik's renowned "Polyurethane Academy" series.
