On April 25th, the second phase of the propane industry chain project of Sailbon Petrochemical reported another good news: the 700,000-ton/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit was successfully commissioned at one time and successfully produced high-quality propylene products.

The PDH unit of Sierbang Petrochemical adopts the internationally advanced propane dehydrogenation to propylene process, and the scale of a single set ranks in the forefront of the industry. With the successful start-up of the PDH unit, the second phase of the Sierbang project has achieved the whole process, and will form a good industrial synergy with the first phase of the alcohol-based polygeneration project to further accelerate the company's new energy and new material industry layout.

"The commissioning of the PDH unit means that we can achieve the complementary advantages of 'methanol to olefins' and 'propane dehydrogenation to propylene' in the acquisition of propylene raw materials, and can flexibly adjust the production capacity of MTO and PDH units according to the market conditions of methanol and propane. , to further reduce costs and increase efficiency.” said Bai Wei, president of Shenghong Petrochemical Industry Group and general manager of Sierbang Petrochemical.

At present, combined with the first phase of MTO (methanol to olefins) plant, the overall production capacity of Sierbang propylene has been increased to 1.2 million tons/year, which can fully meet the raw material supply of 4 sets of 260,000 tons/year acrylonitrile plants, and build a million-ton level for the future. The acrylonitrile project has built a solid basic raw material guarantee platform, and the core advantages of the industrial chain of "big platform + new energy and new materials" are further highlighted.

With the national goal of "double carbon" and the continuous advancement of the construction of large wind and photovoltaic bases, the new energy industry has developed rapidly, and the demand for acrylonitrile and downstream carbon fiber materials is continuously increasing. In the field of new energy materials, the acrylonitrile and photovoltaic grade EVA currently produced by Sierbang are all key new materials.

As the core supplier of the domestic acrylonitrile industry, the current production capacity of Sierbang acrylonitrile reaches 780,000 tons/year, accounting for about 22% of the country, ranking first in China, ensuring the raw material supply of more than 50% of carbon fiber manufacturers in my country .
